The Western Australian Biodiversity Science Institute (WABSI) is a collaborative, unincorporated joint venture, representing The University of Western Australia, the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, CSIRO, Curtin University, Department of Biodiversity Conversation and Attractions, Department of Mines, Industry, Regulation and Safety, Edith Cowan University, Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, Murdoch University, Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and the Western Australian Museum.

You will be part of the Biodiversity Survey Node of the Institute. The node focuses on developing a thorough and robust understanding of the full range of species and ecological communities in Western Australia, their geographic distribution and their current and projected condition through time.

About the opportunity

This is a leadership position where you will collaborate and create links between industry, government, funders and researchers, to oversee the development of the research program for the Biodiversity Survey Node.

About you

You will be PhD qualified and possess relevant experience in the field of biodiversity management. A strong track record of business development is essential to succeed in this role. Your strong networking abilities will result in research projects that address issues of community, industry, government.

Secondments will be considered for this position.
